6 months later...

So, I came on here, set up a new blog, I was very excited to get started...then my boyfriend proposed and really threw a curveball that changed the next few months!  We got married just a little over 3 months after he proposed, and it was an absolutely perfect day.  Everything turned out exactly the way we wanted.

We had the wedding under a HUGE tent in my parents backyard.

We had so many wonderful family members and friends who spent the day with us.  My parents normally throw a party for the 4th of July, so this year we turned that party into a wedding - complete with a red, white and blue color scheme.

We had a VERY short ceremony, under the same tent, followed by dinner & dancing.  Eventually, the wedding turned into the normal party, with karaoke, margaritas, and a water fight.  It was the perfect mix of classy, fun, wedding, partying, and more fun.  Everyone had a great time, and we wished we could do it all over again every weekend.

I did manage to get my own personal touch in the wedding.  I made the cake that sat on top of our cupcake tower (Gigi's cupcakes - so good!).  It did not turn out as I had envisioned, but you know, I had a few other things going on that week, and it gave us something to cut during the reception.

All in all, it was a perfect day.  And I was a very happy bride.

But it was a production, and we did plan it, start to finish, in 3 months.  So it definitely threw off my plans of starting a blog back in March.  (Not to mention, I had two other cousins who got married in the 6 weeks after I did, which meant spring and summer were consumed with trips home to Michigan for showers and weddings, and one Relay For Life).

Now things have calmed down around here - I have no plans for travel to Michigan until Christmas, and I'm not quite sure what to do with myself.  But I have managed to get some crafting and cooking done over these last few months, so I'm off to go take some pictures so I can show off what I've been up to!

Welcome to "All the Hobbies"!

But what does that mean?  Last weekend, I went with a friend to visit a fabric store in our area.  Then we went walking around in the small town where the store is located, which is full of antique shops, and other specialty shops.  There was a knitting store, and a store that sold beads and jewelry supplies, among other things.  While we were walking, we were talking about hobbies we each have (I have recently taken up sewing and embroidery), and I joked with her that I think I want "all the hobbies".  Over the years, I have gotten into so many things.  Some have become true hobbies, others were just short term obsessions.

I have tried my hand at blogging a couple times in the past, but each time, I tried to focus on one thing (usually baking - that's my real passion), and I've lost steam because I've gotten into something else, and when my focus shifts, I can't really blog about crochet on my baking blog.  Well, I could, but it might get a little confusing.

So I came up with this blog, as a way to deal with my hobby A.D.D., and hopefully keep me focused on finishing projects, regardless of type.  In the last few months, a few friends and I have been getting together once or twice a month to work on various projects, and I have actually completed more things than I ever did on my own.  We decorated cookies for Christmas and cupcakes for my friend's daughter's birthday, made tote bags as an introduction to sewing, and participated in Craft Hope Project 11, making birthing kits for Konbit Sante in Haiti.  Hopefully, I can keep going with the trend of "completing", and document my future projects here.  Over the next few days, I'll be posting some recently completed projects, and then I'll move on to new things going forward.  Thanks for reading!
